Red Sea – An Underwater Paradise for Photographers
10 Days of Liveaboard Diving and Photographic Adventures
The Red Sea has always fascinated me. As a passionate diver and photographer, a trip to this underwater paradise was a long-cherished dream. The diversity of coral reefs, exotic fish species, and crystal-clear visibility promised unforgettable dives and unique photo opportunities.
The Journey Begins
After an exciting journey, I boarded our liveaboard boat. The ship was our base for the next 10 days, serving as both a floating hotel and a dive base. The first dive took us to a breathtaking coral reef teeming with colorful fish and corals in all shades.
Underwater World Full of Colors and Shapes
Coral reefs: The coral reefs of the Red Sea are incredibly diverse. Every dive was a new adventure where I encountered fascinating coral formations and hidden corners.
Fish schools: The underwater world of the Red Sea is full of life. I was lucky enough to encounter huge schools of fish, including barracudas, tuna, and parrotfish.
Macro photography: In addition to wide-angle photography, I also dedicated myself to macro photography. Tiny nudibranchs, shrimp, and other small creatures offered fascinating subjects for close-ups.
Wreck diving: A special highlight was diving on a sunken ship. The artificial reefs are home to a variety of marine life and offer a very special atmosphere.
Tips for Underwater Photographers
The right equipment: An underwater camera with a good wide-angle and macro lens is essential. An underwater housing protects the camera from saltwater.
Diving course: For beginners, I recommend a diving course to explore the underwater world safely and responsibly.
Conservation: Every diver should be aware that they are a guest in a foreign world. Please do not touch corals and avoid chasing or feeding animals.
Conclusion
The Red Sea has far exceeded my expectations as a photographer. The diversity of the underwater world and the unique lighting conditions have inspired me again and again. I can only recommend that every diver and photographer explore this fascinating world.
